Natural, Handmade Soap

Aphrodite Ocean Bath

Posted Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

2 cups coarse sea salt
Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, was born of sea foam off the coast of Cyprus. Seawater; with its heavy concentration of salts and minerals, has proven regenerative powers. Nicks, cuts, and blemishes heal quickly when bathed in it. Prepare this bath at home and feel like a Greek goddess yourself. For gift-giving, fill a glass jar with sea salt and tie a seashell on to the lid to use as a spoon.

Add 1/2 cup of salt to a bath that is a little below body temperature. Powdered seaweed (available at natural food stores) may be added if desired.

Bars of soap that you purchase from the store are based on synthetic detergents instead of all-natural ingredients. Synthetics can be harsher to your skin than natural soap, especially without the natural glycerin. kris@soapcreationsbykris.com

Glycerin is in Handmade Soap

Posted Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Handmade soap retains all the natural glycerin in the soap, unlike most commercial bars. Glycerin is a natural emollient that dramatically boosts lather and provides a milder soap that is gentler to the skin. Glycerin is removed from commercial ars since it is a valuable chemical in its own right ~ more valuable than the soap.

I have been thinking lately about an Inspirational Quote that I want post that has made a difference for me in the past couple of years. This is one of my favorites: “Believe that you will succeed. Believe it firmly and you will then do what is necessary to bring success about” ~ Dale Carnegie
Here is another good one: “Dreams come a size too big so that we may grow into them.” ~ Jose Besset
Create a great day and Don’t Give Up!!

What is tea tree oil?

Posted Sunday, June 27th, 2010

The many species of Melaleuca trees are native to Australia. Melaleuca trees have been known as tea trees since the time when their leaves were first used to prepare an herbal tea. The essential oil from the Melaleuca alternifolia is used to treat a wide range of skin disorders such as acne, sunburn, dandruff, burns, insect bites, cuts and infected wounds. It is quickly absorbed by the skin and thought to speed healing.

A new addition…..

Posted Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

I am so excited to announce that I have added a new addition to my soap line…Besides 6 new scents that will be released in 2-3 weeks (they are just finishing curing :) . I am adding Massage oils, Body Butter and Bath salts. But the thing I am really excited about is the addition of my Inspirational Quotes to each bar of soap. ‘A little Inspiration tucked inside of every bar’ ~ After purchase, check under the label and you will find it there. These Inspirational Quotes have inspired me along my magical journey to personal empowerment and success. I want to share them with all of you. A few of them are affirmations that have helped me. One particular affirmation that helped me is: “You will either step FORWARD into GROWTH or back into safety.” ~Abraham Moslew I was scared to death when I started my other company Anchor Water Damage & Restoration. But I knew if I stayed in my comfort zone ~ I would do just that ~ stay there and not move forward. WOW ~ what a Journey it’s been. May 2010 was our largest volume of business calls and it just keeps getting better!
